Born and raised in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley near Aspen, Chris developed his passion for painting and design at an early age. While in high school, he began building his painting skills working on custom homes in the Aspen area. After attending drafting school in Denver, Chris moved to California with hopes of painting sets in Hollywood. When that path didn’t quite work out, he made his way to Santa Barbara in 1987.
Chris became a licensed painting contractor in 1991, and shortly thereafter, CB Paint & Decor, Inc. was established. Since then, Chris has painted, remodeled, redecorated, and transformed hundreds of homes and properties throughout Santa Barbara and the surrounding area.
With an appreciation for both classic and contemporary styles, Chris brings a creative eye and a love of decorative finishes to his work. His specialty work includes faux finishes, Old World patinas, frescos, stenciling, and other custom decorative techniques that can add character, depth, and individuality to a space. His work can be seen throughout Santa Barbara, from local restaurants and businesses to beautiful homes and estates.
Chris enjoys finding the right colors, textures, finishes, and details to bring each space to life while reflecting the personality and tastes of his clients. Whether creating a timeless Old World look, adding the character of a custom faux finish, or simply giving a room a fresh new feel, he approaches each project with the same creative attention to detail.

Our Core Values:
We know that a finish coat is only as good as the surface beneath it. We spend the necessary time pressure washing, scraping, patching drywall, repairing stucco, removing mold, and sealing substrates before a single paint drop touches the surface.
We treat your home or business as if it were our own. Our crews utilize heavy-duty drop cloths, masking films, and clean work area practices to keep your flooring, landscaping, fixtures, and furniture entirely protected.
You will never be left guessing about schedules or project details. We keep open lines of communication throughout every phase of the project, ensuring work progresses on time and as promised.
Quality control is built into our daily workflow. Key team members and supervisors perform regular daily checks to verify that application techniques, coverage, and cleanup meet our strict standards.
